Meet the
Mini Goldendoodle
Affectionate. Smart. Social. And very into their people.
Mini Goldendoodles combine the friendly, people-loving nature associated with Golden Retrievers with the intelligence, trainability and curly coat traits of the Poodle.
Mini Goldendoodles are bred toward a smaller adult size through the use of smaller Poodle lines, creating a more compact companion while keeping many of the qualities families love about Goldendoodles.
They like being part of the action.
Goldendoodles are typically affectionate, social dogs that form strong bonds with their families and tend to want to be wherever their people are.
Quick learners with opinions.
Both Golden Retrievers and Poodles are intelligent, trainable breeds. Goldendoodles usually respond beautifully to consistent, positive training and enough mental stimulation.
Cute coat. Real commitment.
Their furnished, wavy-to-curly coats require regular brushing and professional grooming. Lower shedding does not mean maintenance-free.
Built for togetherness.
With proper socialization, training and enrichment, Mini Goldendoodles can make wonderful companions for families who want their dog included in everyday life.
A quick note about shedding + allergies:
Goldendoodles are often lower shedding than Golden Retrievers, especially when they inherit more Poodle coat traits, but no Goldendoodle can be guaranteed completely non-shedding or hypoallergenic.
They’re adorable, but adorable isn’t the same thing as effortless.
Before you fall in love…
I know the teddy bear face is pretty convincing, but there are a few things you should know before bringing one home.
They really want to be with you.
“Independent” is not usually the first word that comes to mind.
Goldendoodles tend to form strong bonds with their people and want to be involved in everyday life. They may follow you from room to room, supervise bathroom trips and consider your personal space a group activity.
Smart puppies still need training.
Intelligence is helpful. It is not the same thing as manners.
These dogs are quick learners, which means they can learn the things you want very quickly…and become equally efficient at practicing the things you don’t. Consistent training, boundaries and mental stimulation matter from puppyhood forward.
The coat is a commitment.
The fluff does not maintain itself.
Regular brushing at home and professional grooming are part of the deal. Depending on coat type and length, most families should plan on professional grooming about every 6–8 weeks, with consistent maintenance in between.
They need more than a backyard.
Exercise matters, but so does enrichment.
Walks, play, training, sniffing, puzzles and simply being included in family life all help meet their needs. A bored, clever dog will eventually create its own entertainment, and there is absolutely no guarantee you’ll approve of the activity.

For The Pastry Pups, that’s our girl Butter and the very handsome Gadget.
Butter
Multigen Mini Goldendoodle
~19 lbs
Butter is generally a pretty chill little dog who loves being close to her people. She’s affectionate, cuddly, and perfectly content relaxing with the family most of the time.
Gadget
Miniature Poodle
~13 lbs
Gadget is a friendly, social little guy who enjoys being around people. He’s intelligent, engaging and brings the compact size, furnished curly coat and Poodle traits we were looking for in Butter’s pairing.
why Butter + Gadget
This pairing was about more than creating cute puppies.
We chose Gadget to complement the things we already love about Butter: her compact size, affectionate temperament and highly Poodle-influenced coat, while bringing his own friendly personality, smaller frame and Poodle traits to the pairing.
Together, we’re hoping for small, intelligent, family-oriented Mini Goldendoodles with furnished curly-to-fleece coats, wonderful companion temperaments and a pretty incredible range of possible colors and markings.
Not your typical Goldendoodle color palette.
Hear “Goldendoodle” and you’re probably picturing a fluffy cream or apricot teddy bear. The Pastry Pups could look a little different.
Butter and Gadget’s genetics give their puppies the potential for cream, apricot, red, black, chocolate, sable, phantom/tan point, parti and merle coats, along with some pretty striking combinations. Merle may appear on either a black- or brown-based coat, and white spotting can range from smaller abstract markings to more obvious parti patterns.
Genetics gives us the possibilities.
Butter gets to decide what actually comes out of the oven.
We don’t price puppies differently based on sex, color or markings.
A beautiful coat is fun. A healthy, well-adjusted companion is the goal.
Coat genetics can be layered. Some colors or patterns may be genetically present without being visibly expressed.
the first 8 weeks matter
A puppy’s life doesn’t begin the day you bring them home.
The Pastry Pups will be born and raised right in the middle of our family. Their first eight weeks will be filled with everyday household life, individual attention, age-appropriate experiences and the beginnings of skills that will help prepare them for life with their future families.
